This year our congregation invited Uri Harel to teach 'Secrets of the Hebrew Language' as a supplement to our ongoing Hebrew classes. Mr. Harel's presentation was captivating and gave everyone from the beginner to the advanced student something of value.
The class was opened to the public, many of whom never had any Hebrew background. What we hoped to accomplish was to get folks intrigued as to the Hebrew language, to realize that all Bibles are translations and thus we interpret its stories and lessons through these various interpretations , and realize the importance of Hebrew in a deeper study of the scriptures.
Uri was first contacted through his web site http://www.c-bh.com and later was met in person. Most of the details were handled via the Internet along with 1-2 phone calls to iron out some details.
I would recommend having Uri come to your area to open folks to the beauty and importance of the Hebrew language and the understanding of our Bible. This can then be a spring board for more Hebrew classes and a deeper study into God's word.

I haven't seen you in awhile, but I think of you every time I play my "Music From God" CD. I've about worn it out, and just last week I ordered two more. I am counseling out of two offices, and I am playing the CD when I am doing deep inner healing work with victims of abuse (so I had to have one for each office and one for home). It has been so healing for me, and of course, others feel the same way. Your dedication to the project of revealing the music in Scripture has so blessed my life that words cannot describe it. ...I took your class at Desert Rose Church and then came to a Saturday workshop on learning Hebrew. I have really wanted to come to your Monday night classes, but my schedule prevents that. I also want desperately to go to Israel with all of you... Dear Uri, It's important you know what a blessing you are to me, with all the wonderful lessons, where I can learn the Hebrew language, and progress, (and I have progressed, thanks to you) Because of you, I am learning to hear Hebrew, and actually understand it. This is priceless. Also with your new library addition (what a candy store!) I have utilized this site and am currently working on the Biblical Primer. The Monday night classes have been a blessing also because of how you encourage us that these stories were made for us to glean from, and the time is taken to so thoroughly go over the Torah. Meeting Uri Harel, catapulted not only My personal journey of spiritual growth but also changed the face of what I thought my Learning Center should be. . . . after going to Phoenix, AZ. to attend Uri's class I knew this was the type of learning material I needed to facilitate the goals of my Hebrew Learning Center.
Uri was the first speaker for our Grand Opening Ceremony. We had a large crowd of people who attended and are still speaking about how their concept of Judaism and the Bible have changed. The second time we had Uri come to a conference the audience more than doubled in size and the past students were there once again to glean more.
Uri's style of presentation is unique, creative and causes one to think beyond the box of limitations . . . People seemed to be awaken to a new way of looking beyond the surface reading in English, to further explore the mysteries within the beauty of the Hebrew letters and bring so much life to the mind and soul.
